KFC eSwatini collaborated with local art studio Yebo Art Gallery as part of their marketing campaign, celebrating local culture. The collaboration showcases the brand’s connection with the community, flaunting the uniqueness of eSwatini with bus stops designed by Mbongeni Dlamini, painted by local artists Thabo Lukhele, Fela Dlamini, Phindile Mamba, aimed at expressing the brands love for the Kingdom of eSwatini and their support for local talent. Each mural has distinctive elements that proudly show the fusion of KFC and eSwatini culture.
“This campaign has been especially important to the brand as it was inspired by the culture of EmaSwati, designed and painted by local talent, for eSwatini. We hope that this public display celebrating the culture between KFC and eSwatini will show EmaSwati just how much they mean to the brand,” explained Belinda Forbes, the Marketing & Brand Manager for KFC eSwatini. She added that Siphilele Magagula (local content developer) and her team managed to capture the entire painting process and assist to bring the story to life on KFC’s Instagram platform.
In KFC eSwatini’s efforts to celebrate the eSwatini culture, they have also branded kombis, in which the design was inspired by the patterns of the Lihiya, local traditional wear.
Just as KFC blends bold flavours into their secret recipe, this campaign blends bold visuals into the everyday lives of EmaSwati.
